Nick Jacobs was a young forward who played most of his senior soccer at South during the 2011 season.[1][2]

Jacobs' most memorable moment however came in his only league game in 2012.[3] Coming on a substitute away against Southern Stars, Jacobs bundled in a 94th minute goal to earn South a 3-2 win. A week later however Jacobs broke his leg in a school soccer match.[4] and the prolonged and complicated injury layoff saw him miss the entire 2013 season; he retired from soccer on the eve of the 2014 season.

Jacobs' career post-soccer saw him become an American college football punter. Playing for the University of Memphis Tigers, he was part of the first Tigers team to win a league title since 1971.[5]

Nick is the younger brother of AFL player Ben Jacobs.[6]
