South traveled to Chaplin Reserve for their first competitive match at that venue since 2009, and endured a typically scrappy game, the combination of a rugged opponent and woeful field conditions saw chances be few and far between. The game was decided controversially: after throwing the ball back to the George Cross keeper Robert Santilli, Milos Lujic chased down the ball in order to keep the game moving - however having collected the ball, Santilli went on to crudely collect Lujic, and the referee awarded a penalty to South. Jamie Reed slotted the spot kick, and South held for a controversial win.
